Default HELP - Engines making Noise

**** people, think my engine has decided to go pop after 2.5months of ownership.

Basically was on the motorway giving it some beans, then pulled off at my junction, turned the music down, oil pressure went down and heard banging noise in the engine, so took a slow 2 mile drive to work with banging noise after 2k in every gear.

Can anyone advise if this is the big end? and how much roughly to rectify this problem.

Im in guildford, surrey, could anyone recomend somewhere good to try for prices?

sorry its a wrx import on 95, not sure about fueling, as i thought it was standard,

was flat out in 5th for 10 seconds or so, and the oil was checked a couple of days ago with over half full and the car was serviced 2 weeks ago!

had some prices already 1. for a new engine £1950 + VAT and 2. £350 + VAt to take out engine to see what wrong then wot ever it cost to rectify.

Another one just after servicing! I'm getting very nervous as the yearly service on my 03STi is looming. I usually do all my own servicing, but this one is for the stamp in the book. Think I shall have to have a chat with the dealer.

John, you won't have a problem if that's a Uk car as ' the problem ' seems to afflict Imported cars against UK cars on a ratio of about 20 :1 in my experience.

Whilst it is a problem that occurs in both cases soon after a service, the imports generally are still mapped for 100 ron and the effects of running on 98 and a bit [optimax] and high intercooler and manifold temps after a high speed run does for an imported engine that's been carelessly serviced quite frequently.

Relax.
