Default Blitz type S boost controller

I have just bought one of the above for MY00 turbo.
Will it be safe to just plug in and go???
Will I get the full benefit??
If I need anything else what is it and where do I get it from??
I bought the Type S cause I didnt want to spend any more money on other things like knocklinks and FCD's.

Have a Blitz controller on my Sti v3. Fitted by Power Engineering though, but it is not too complex to fit. They have English translations to the indstructions.
Try Wayne at PE, they may help you.

You have not wasted ££££££££££££££, mine is perfect after 2 1/2 years now.

I have the type s fitted to my 93 WRX (import).
I also had a HKS f.c.d and a a.f.r fitted at the same time.
At a later date i fitted a knocklink just to be safe.
It has now been on the car for 2years and had no problems.
Only thing i have don e is adjusted the gain and ratio settings to where i want.
Another thing took about 5/6 hours to install and set up

Yes, providing that you observe all the obvious precautions when raising boost, such as checking AFR and monitoring for detonation. If you keep at or below standard boost there is no danger at all.

Depends what else you have done. If combined with the right breathing mods, then you will certainly get a decent improvement in power and driveability with a touch more boost. if that is your ONLY mod, then obviously its eefect will be limited by other restrictions in the car. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. The restricting factor in your car for big power is the little standard turbo. You'll have to change that if you are looking for reliable power in the 300s.

If you want to run decent boost and be safe you will definately need other things, but it's difficult to give a full answer to this because a) I don't know what else you have done already b) I'd be advertising

Then you obviously haven't done your homework as you will need at least BOTH of these AS WELL if you want to gain the full benefit of the Spec S.
Your ECU will stop you going above 1.2 bar anyway, whether the Spec S wants to or not, unless you fit an FCD. If you do this, and run over 1.2bar without a knocklink, then you'll soon be spending the money you saved on those two items on a new set of pistons most probably.

At more than this level of boost you would be wise to run octane booster all the time as well.

Hope that answers your queries. Do yourself a favour though, ask someone in the know BEFORE you put your hand in your pocket. That way you won't make potentially expensive blunders.

Advice should be for free in my book, even though I work for a tuner.

That is so true!

Wish someone/some experts would write a How To tuning book, save hours on the Snet, but would miss it all really!

Already been done and it's called "Training WRX" by Nick Warne

It's £30 but well worth it.
