Power and weight
Hi just trying to figure a few things out, first of anyone no how much a 97 type r weighs? ok here goes i will try and expalin the best i can, if you have two type r's for example one producing say 370 bhp and one say 400bhp with aqrox the same talk, how much weight would you be looking to loose on the 370 bhp car to inable it to have the same performace figuers as the 400bhp one? if this is even possible without changing its power.

I weighed my Type RA the other day See here. It weighed in at 1280kg without me. The Type R's and the RA's are pretty much the same weight.
By my calculations, based on 1280kg you'd need to shed about 100kg to make up the difference which is quite a lot and not really realistic. Adding drivers into the equation will offset this a little.

Didnt realise it wos that much, 100kg is alot to loose and for the cost involved hardly seems worth it, but i geuss the air con, rear belts and spare wheel must save you a bit, and the batery well shame you need that to realy.

You can add to the slimming by fitting tube headers, the weight of the cast manifold and shields is about 15Kg.
I did a looooong thread about a year ago on this subject.
Carlos got down to about 1100kg, maybe 1000kg.
You would need to get the tin snips out to get down to 1000kg, lots of carbon panels(which nobody makes) and get radical everywhere.
