Default What is it that does this ?

When you start your car in the morning from cold the engine idles a little high until the car warms up then it drops down to the normal level

which part of your car tells the ecu to do this ?

thanks

if you blip the throttle slightly once the idle will drop to around 1100-1200

thanks for the replies

I am looking for the name of the part which does this

to let you understand

my car seems to run very low idle until it warms up

when it warms up it runs at about 1500rpm

so I am wondering if perhaps when its warm it thinks it cold and when its cold it thinks its warm

if you follow what I mean ?

I think youre looking for idle control valve, fitted to the throttle body on phase 2, and atached to the manifold left of the throttle body on phase1-1.5.

What year is your car?
Could be MAF related problem.
