Can anyone help me?...

I have a flat spot around 2.5 - 3k revs, it seems more noticable when the car is cold, but it's still present when it's warm. The car is an MY97 UK Turbo.

I thought it might be the Lambda probe but I'm returning 27MPG with average driving so I guess it's working OK.

Could it be the MAF on it's way out? I thought they were quite solid on this year?..

Can anyone give me an idea of what to start checking/replacing?....

MAFs are quite solid for your MY, but as to whether they're meant to last 7 years or not is another thing...!

Does it only occur under WOT, or also part throttle? Does it matter what gear you're in?

It happens in any gear and both under WOT and part throttle...
