Cool Fuel Pumps and regulators

I am abit confused by something and hope you can help

I want to uprate my fuel pump on my MY00, I have heard the Walbro 255 mentioned, looking on teh web at a shop in germany that sells them it says

Walbro 255 HP 255 L/H

what does this actually mean? is this pump good for 255HP or is that the part number, only Bosch do a 400HP and a 500HP

I have also seen the Walbro 265HP with 265L/H.

WHich pump will be the best one for upto 320PS ish

Also a new fuel regulator will be needed so which one do I go for?

Cheers

i'm by no means an expert Steve, but i have a FSE reg and a Walbro (255 L/H i think). my car is MY95 WRX with STi2 RA bottom end, FMIC, 440 inj's, induction kit and puts out around 300bhp. i sometimes have a slight misfire under really heavy loads, but generally the car runs well (very quick) with this set up.

Walbro pump will deal with that no problem, 255 liters per hour will empty your tank in 15 mins if you let it, so should keep up

Don't mean to hijack this thread but where can you get the Walbro fuel pumps from in the UK.

Cool

Great thanks I have ordered a Walbro 285 and an FSE Uprated Fuel regulator.

The pump was €158 here in Germany.

So hopefully these should work ok together.

Have you gone for an FSE 1:1 regulator - I believe these are better suited for your application than a rising rate one (unless you are planning monster mods, but then the SX reg is even better)

What sort of price did you pay for the lot?

Lateral Performance are doing the pair for £195 (also get a guage with the reg) - spek to Mark there - he is very knowledgeable. Dunno their number but if you search for them then you'll find it.

Cheers

Terry

Thanks Terry,

I know nothing about lateral performance I got the fuel pump from a company in German and I posted messages on SN about a regulator and got no reply.

I was looking on the scoobymania website and found one listed as FSE Uprated fuel regulator so I thought that was it I will look at lateral performance and see what they have to say.

Cheers
