Boost reading on WRX MY01 PPP
Just fitted a boost sensor for the SECS unit on the car to get the true boost reading. Car is
MY01 WRX
PPP ECU
Miltek Sports cat exhaust
Up pipe de-cat
Green panel air filter
STi7 intercooler
The boost reading I am getting is 1.37 bar (20.1 psi). This seems really high!!!1 Car has been in this set up for ages and drives ok. Should I be concerned!!!

I get 1.37 on mine mate but thats all mapped for with my tek3

could it be a bit of overboost with the downpipe?

it tails off at about 5 and goes down to about 1.1 by the rev limit I think (15psi)
yes wee need to meet up... I'm freeish this weekend and was planning to come to Worcester to see Rik at some point...

Ha, I can talk - Our wee ikkle T25 puffing its heart out at 15psi

Noticed today with the cooler temp that I'm getting 19.5 psi (1.32 bar) in 4th & 5th on a std PPP WRX.
Up til then, 4th was getting to 18.5 psi.
also 2nd & 3rd were up to 18.5 psi, from their normal 17.6 psi.
I thought at these boosts fuel cut would come into play, unless its been raised considerably higher than the std WRX).

Well I suppose I am feeling a little better perhaps the combo of all the extra little bits help (was on normal super as well though so might get higher ) anyhow I have got a knocklink coming soon so that should ease my mind more or panic me!!

I'm running a MY01 With PPP and full scoobysport decat, I get the following boost readings from my defi's (quoted bar but defi's read something else which is almost identical to bar).
2nd - 1.2 to 1.3 bar
3rd - 1.2 to 1.3
4th 1.3 but will often peak at 1.4
5th 1.3 but will often peak at 1.4
all trail off at about 5.5k revs I think.
Can't remember 1st, I'll record a reading through the gears over the weekend and post it up if you want.

Hi,
i've got a My01 PPP 39k on the clock (got 252bhp on the rollers at G-force) which looking at the figures chris gave mines about the same using a GReddy electronic boost gauge, 1st gear peaks about 1.0 - 1.1bar, hope this helps
2nd - 1.2 to 1.3 bar
3rd - 1.3 depends on the load
4th 1.3 to sometimes 1.4
5th 1.3 to sometimes 1.4
