You can safely run a UK Scoob on supermarket unleaded, however the ECU will adjust the cars ignition timing to work with it. You'll only get the best out of the car running on a decent super unleaded or Shell Optimax.
Tyre pressures is a very personal thing, I think the standard setup is 34 front, 32 rear. Though I run 32/30.

I have MY01 Bugeye with 17 inch wheels. Owners Manual says 33 front/32 rear regardless of number of passengers and luggage. From what I have gleaned elsewhere, exact pressures should not be too much outside 33-36 but you might need to experiment a little to get the right response for YOU bearing in mind your tyre make and assuming they are all the same make and wear pattern. A bloke called 'Honest John' (Daily Telegraph columnist on Saturday) said something very similar about experimenting carefully with tyre pressures to get the best driving experience.
As to petrol, I try always to fill up with Optimax but if that is not available, I occasionally put in a tankful of Shell normal. I assume that ECU adjusts itself once you have used any given fuel consistently. Again Honest John recommends never to use supermarket petrol but always to insist on Shell (or Texaco) fuels for all his readers, regardless of car make - he says these makes have superior cleaners added.
