Question 2.5 Engine experiences

I know lots of people have now fitted the 2.5 into both classics and bugeyes.

Ive got the engine and am getting all the other bits together - Including an STI02 donor car.

I am already resigned to needing a new Turbo (probaly garret related) and a UPpipe to suit. also the clutch, injectors and an appropriate remap.

Some people have been down this route already amd hopefully will have some experiences:

'That worked well'

'Why did I bother'

'I wish I had done X instead'

Im interested to know any advice that you have. As I am sure others are.

How do the USA engines cope with the 2.5 l capacity? Do they break things, or all the bits that bit stronger to cope?

Wonder, would importing a USA car and making RHD be best ooption, or else full engine and g'box, diffs etc? that way the injectors, fuel rails, turbo, headers/uppipe, g'box, and part loom would be all there saving after market ones until further power increases required? And if they run OK in USA then a good start for over here!

Or is it the after market mods to 550 BHP that cause the problems.....

To expensive ! Don't fiddle then.
Just because it's a 2.5 don't mean its any more expensive than the 2.0
