Question oil help

My cars due for its first service (1000 mile) on my MY04 WRX PPP

Is it worth putting in an oil like Castrol RS ,Motul ,Mobil 1 or should I stick with whatever the dealer uses?

Or should i have more miles on befor putting in a synthetic oil?

It is too early for a fully synthetic oil, you're right to think that more miles are necessary (around 7-10K) before switching to a full synth.

As for what the dealer uses, ask them before you take the car in. If it's Magnatec, IIWY I'd supply them with five litres of Motul 200V, Mobil Super S or Shell Helix Plus, all at 10w/40, and get them to use that.

Thanks for the offer Midlife....

Don't know if there's anything wrong with Magnatec ,I'm used to changing the oil every 3000 miles when I had a highly stung Fiesta RS Turbo (got rid of the Fiesta and go a highly stung girlfriend instead LOL) and I always used Mobile 1.

Just want to continue the tradition with my Scooby
