How do you select your oil?
And how do you judge a good oil?
Im not particularly looking to know which brands people use, but I would be interested in the selection process that you go through. What criteria must it meet before you will be satisfied with it?
By the way, this is my first post here, and Im sure I will get to know you all over the next few months.
Responses awaited with interest.

wanted to know for my self last week but had no reply so went for 10 40 magnatec in a classic wrx.
seems a little smoother from cold but a little tappy when hot
wish i had used 15 50 i spose.
mobil 1 is sposed to be the best - not sure of rating - its well expensive though

Really, Magnatec will not suffice for a turbo car.
Use something like Motul M300 V 15/50. available from demon tweeks etc.
Quite expensive, but cheaper than an engine rebuild!
