It should bounce slowly back and forward at idle. When cruising it should bounce quickly from 0-.8v ish.

Over 0.5 bar, it should go to WOT, this is where the MAF starts governing the fuelling. Here, it should go rich, to about the "I" on rich on the gauge.

The Autometer one si good, as it shows your fuelling on WOT, and also that your MAF/ 02 is ok at cruise. The only sense you can make of it as it bounces, is whether its showing you your MAF / 02 is duff. When this happens, the display will start to play up / lights fade etc.

Question

Hi
Thanks for the reply, so does this mean it is OK?
When lifting off their are no lights for a split second, I pressume thats normal?
From what you described the MAF AND O2 sensor must be OK.
Cheers

Give them a ring, they do sell them, but not on the site, Make sure you specify a silver bezel looks nicer.

Autometer is the manufacturer / brand name, Phantom, Ultralite etc. are the different styles / models.

Very nice gauges, even tho' SM took several months to sort my order out a while ago ... I think Real Steel are the main importers into UK of these, Autometer have a nice web site with loads of specs and piccies on the USA site, forgot URL sorry!

My autometer phantom shows the first 3 green lights aT WOT with 17 psi (The last one with less intensity). I'm runing TD05, and with a AFR of 10.5 aprox.

I don't know whether in every oxy sensor should be the same, but it could be a reference.

I hope this helps

Regards from Chile

Hi
Cheers fredysan.

Hi.
Andy have a look at apex-performance and you can check out the piccys. I got mine within 24hrs of ordering. The gauges with the silver surround are the ultralites.
Hope this helps.

If you look at sheet "Sport & Ultra small", it's line 31, code 4375, price £53.50.

Yeah, wouldn't advise using email for credit card details... I've done it a couple of times, but only when there was no alternative. Give 'em a ring.

Yes, Selby's in North Yorkshire.

Just fitted my Autometer gauge and its doing roughly the same as what DarkBlueMark as described.

At idle the lights move from lean the the first green rich light. When on part throttle it moves somewhat slower back and forth and then when on WOT it gets to 3rd or 4th rich light.

Off throttle it goes blank. Only thing about the gauge is that I thought it lit up all the lights like a bar rather than one chasing the other (If you get me).

I've bought a new MAF and will be getting on of those Lamdas from cats-direct. Shouldn't hurt to replace theses as the car has done 48K. I'm running MY00 decat, K&N Panel, HKS BOV and TEK3 map at 17PSI max.

Cool

Just a note that Halfrauds are selling universal Lambda sensors at half price at the mo, The L300 one fits the scoob (3 wire) and have had one on my MY00 for about 6 months with no trouble.
I paid £25 for it but as they are half price at the mo they are a real bargin (£12.50)but only while stocks last as they say

Hope this is of some help
Cheese...

P.S.
When my MAF was buggered my AFR meter showed nothing on WOT even though my local dealer told me it was fine, changed the sensor and hey presto rich on WOT so be careful.

Edd, sounds spot on WOT, but might be a bit sluggish at cruising speed. You will probably find a difference with a new o2 sensor. Sensible to replace them at that age too. They should bounce, rather thank light up as a trail.

Cheesy, buy them up and flog them on here, becoming quite rare from Halfords

What you saw on your AFR with a shot MAF is quite scary, and probably not much fuel going in The earlier signs of a MAF breaking is more random lights on / off boost...
