Post boost gauge

does anybody know where i can get boost gauge hosing from. I have just brought a second hand boost gauge. It has got a long nylon pipe on it, but i need to find the right pipe to fit it to the engine. i have a my99 so there is a blanked off pipe for it to go on. but the pipe i have got is to small.

cheers Jason

Boost guages usually have a small pipe , I think you may be looking at the wrong pipe on the scoob. Most guages i have seen are fitted with a "tee" connector to the small pipe from the boost control valve ( fitted to the boost / ignition panel that lives on the offside suspension turret ) and the turbo.

On a UK turbo, you can take the reading from a blanked off nipple on top of the inlet manifold - I think the blanked off pipe you are on about is probably the one.

I used a 3mm internal diameter piping for this - general nylon ones are fine.

Yep, most motor factors will have what you need. I used a rubber hose, 3mm internal diameter. Nice snug fit onto the nipple on the block and the hose from the gauge, but used cable ties to secure. Don't do the hose/hose connection too tight though else you won't get a reading.

If is the autometer gauge (sounds like it is from the description), then if you go to halfrauds you will find some 't' pieces in their washer section and with a little help from a drill the small nylon pipe will fit inside the 't' piece with a bit of superglue to hold it in place.

Hey presto one pipe size convertor.

Dan.
