Clutch Pedal Sticking
Hi I have a 98 Type R and my clutch pedal is sticking down when its being driven quickly, I think the problem is with the release spring, does anyone know where I can get one from and are they easy to fit?
Thanks

Oh no, not others too!
Just been through this lot.
Suggest:
1 Clutch release arm spring come off or gon slack. Quick fix is to bend the light steel bracket it loops onto on the back of the engine to gain more tension. If cured, get a new one.
2 Additional to above, remove the clutch slave cylinder, carefully displace the plunger rod (pulls off with the rubber boot) and ease out the piston. VERY gentle pressing of the pedal will do it. Attached to it is a long cioled spring, gently stretch this by about 50% to around 60mm free length. Reassemble it all back, BUT, bleed the clutch with the nipple to the very top. NOTE! when you do this use a clamp to hold the piston in!
3 If you still have a half-way pedal then you need to remover the large helper spring on the pedal assembly. simple awkward job! Two nuts hold to master cylinder and one bolt the assy to the under dash. You will find it! Remove the assy to the bench, then remove the helper spring set. Replace.
4 If you STILL have the problem, then you will be forced to do as I did, remove the box/clutch and investigate further. best take it to a specialist/dealer as that job IS a bitch.
I do know what a pain this can be, good luck guys
