She just feels lazy!
MY00, decat, dawes, itg. 63k (UK car)
It might just be that i've gotten used to it however here's how it feels:
1st gear she spools up quickly and all is normal, 2nd, 3rd & 4th just feel "normal" The boost gauge tells me that the boost is fine but it just doesn't seem to have that "ooomph" Sure she's still quick in comparison to other traffic but summat is missing
Could it be that some of me tubing is leaking something somewhere? Is the TD04 starting to struggle? Ahh who knows?
At the weekend I intend checking pipes, clips, etc. Somewhere common that often splits or comes away? New air filter and Lambda going on too.
I've never cleaned out boost solenoid and wastegate pipes although I can't imagine they have anything to do with it. Should I do them too?
That said, it's probably just time to TEK myself up and be done with it
Mikey <BTW the Dawes is set to just under fuel cut which works for me at a mere 15.5 psi>

Morning!
Nice to have a "normal" conversation with you, instead of argumentative...!
Your problem could well be MAF related. Don't want to start banging the drum about ITG filters, but you know the score. Far too many posts to be coincidental. Have you tried the "unplug whilst idling" test, and also reset the ECU to see if it's worse (including erratic idle)? Would be a good starting point.
Before these symptoms occurred, how was the car driving? Did it feel the same as usual, or has it felt quicker than usual?
Do you have a Knocklink? It's possible the ECU is retarding the ignition timing due to the onset of det, so even though the boost is still the same, the performance is dampened by significantly less ignition advance.
You don't need to worry about cleaning your wastegate solenoid and pipes, as you're using a Dawes MBC...

If it hasn't been going on for too long, it could well just be a dodgy batch of fuel - a couple of degrees of retard can make everything feel very 'flat'.
Or simply the weather hotting up again? From what I remember of TMICs, they are seriously affected by the weather

GM,when my MY01 felt flat,i always gave the Boost solenoid and associated pipework a good clean and she always felt back on song afterwards.
2 of my mates both with 01-02 cars swear by my cleaning skills with my mystery agent, squirted into the boost solenoid to revive their flat feeling cars.
