Default rattly clanging sound, only when throttle closed and decelerating, at around 2000rpm

Probably heat shields but thought I would ask.
It is in time with the engine speed. Sounds like a thin bit of metal hanging down into the cooling fans. Only when I am coasting (ie engine speed is dropping), as soon as I put the slightest bit of gas on it stops. It's not there when cold, only starts after engine is warmed. Not related to drive train as I can make it happen when stationary and in neutral.
It sounds like it is coming from the turbo area.
Car is running very well.

Any ideas?

Yep I'd go for heat shield, you should be able to get it ratttling with the bonnet up and using the throttle linkage to get the revs correct, then you can pinpoint the offending item. if its not the downpipe one then theres a few on the headers - best accessed from underneath the car.

Thumbs up

I have the same thing on mine, but its not the heat shield its the wastgate rattling in the turbo. If you hold it whenthe engine is running it goes away.

You will need to take the top heat shield off and have a look

Cheers
Iain
