Default Clifford 300 problem - help.

My GF's Clifford 300 seems to have fecked up. The alarm started going off yesterday for no reason, but its been locked away for past week. Fob wouldn't turn it off, and car is delocked so was a bit snookered, but managed to disconnect battery.
Thought it was due to low battery so just managed to blag a new free one from Halfords (Dont ask ), and tried that - still no joy. Alarm keeps going off, on, off etc when I reconnect the battery.
Any ideas?

DO YOU HAVE A CLIFFORD MANUAL?, I THINK IT SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THIS IN THERE. ITS TO PREVENT THIEVES SIMPLY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY TO STEAL A CAR. I WILL DIG MY BOOK OUT AND HAVE A READ,
MIKE.

It's the fob I think. Managed to get it working by taking the cover off the fob again and pressing buttons then. I think the cover is ineterfering somehow with the battery connections.
I will fiddle about a bit, and if I get no joy will try my local Clifford dealer.

Get shot of it matey. Mine did this 3 times and each time it needed a new main control unit. Load of crap IMHO.

you can usually pick up replacement fobs for clifford alarms on e-bay for under £20, i got myself a secomd one from there.
do you have the valet code to program your alarm?
i read in the manual that its called smart power up, so thieves can't steal your car by disconnecting the battery. you really need to see a manual to work out how to bypass it.
Mike.

Did you notice the chirps being slightly different when the battery in the fob was on its way out? the alarm lets you know that the fob bat is about to go.

Local Clifford place (Pilot, Earlsdon) soldered bit on fob for me, for free
Said it was a common problem. Now sorted.
Recommended highly (have used them numerous times now, always helpful).
