ive blowen my big ends, got all the bits from RCD and GGR, got someone to do the rebuild, problem i have i phoned someone/company they told me id have to renew the "MAYDEAN or MAYDEAM" above oil filter as it cant be opened up to clean, dont know if i have spelt this part right, but they say that have one and i need it but it costs £150, ive asked around and noone has heard of this part can someone help me please?

The part mentioned can be called a moden. Or an Oil Cooler means the same thing. Mine cost 90 quid from Subaru. Not worth missing out really when you have probably already spent at leat 700 quid on parts. Apparently they do hold little particles of metal from previous engine damage so its best to throw that away along with the defective parts.

Modene, water to oil cooler.

Do not under any circumstances use one from a breakers, only new, you don't know how or why it got to the breaker's and could be full of swarf.
