It's usually the insulation that fails, so take each one off the car and look for cracks... I found that they were dead by pulling the rubber end bits off and if the bakelite like plastic crumbles in your hands then it's knackered...

Disconnect the lead to the coils one by one, and briefly start the car up (after only disconnecting one ) See which one makes the LEAST difference to the way the car runs....You then know which one is failing/failed...The small 2 pin connectors can be quite tricky to get apart...Use a small flatblade screwdriver to push the tab towards the body of the connector!

Put some new plugs in about a month ago. ( was running fine ) I checked the coil rubbers then, they looked OK. I'll disconnect them at the connectors and see what happens.
