Shift indicator
Since I got my car modded/mapped, I've found a problem. Perhaps this reflects poorly on my driving
, but here goes! The car is so rapid now that I've found myself unwittingly bouncing off the rev limiter more than once when 'gunning it'.
In ideal circumstances I should have been monitoring engine revs closer and changing accordingly, sure. However, I think I would find a shift indicator useful. How could this be achieved?
My car is a UK MY00 Turbo with EcuTEK-remapped original ECU. I've got some Defi gauges on a Defi-Link 2 control unit, in case that would be useful.
Ideally I'd like to be able to control when the indicator goes off (e.g. to coincide when peak power occurs, perhaps). Any ideas?

I never had a problem with the rev limiter until Bob Rawle maped my MY02 bugeye with a few mods
I don't know about you but I need to keep one eye on the road and another on the Knocklink !! I think a shift light would just confuse my brain while overtaking

. I do want to relocate my KnockLink LEDs to the dashboard, but that's another project. With regards to the shift indicator, I actually think an audible buzzer would be more useful than a light. You're quite right -- visually there's an awful lot going on. Under hard acceleration I try to keep an eye on the KL, boost guage, speed and the road
. That's plenty!Any ideas how to do this?
