Question Which FMIC out of these?

I have the operchancity to buy either an HKS,Blitz or Trust front mount intercooler for my MY99 UK Turbo.Anybody any opinions on which is the best one? Price is much the same for either.

I am biased but why not consider a Hybrid. They were 708$ in the last GB and 825$ outwith the GB. Another G.B. is due in May.
I have not heard any negative feed back on these.

wrxtankie,

I don't wish to start an argument but: APS claim a core volume of 9,072cm3 for the MY99/00 R-Series FMIC. The Hybrid monster core is 13,500cm3 ?

Thing is I can get these shipped to my door from Japan for £600 so these are my choices,I couldn't get an APS for anything like that and I don't want to wait as long as Hybrid would take. Any opinions on the 3 types?

(Plus I am a name tart!)

Seeing as those are your choices then the HKS would be top of the pile, and the blitz quite definately bottom.

HKS definitely has the best reputation out of your shortlist amongst Subaru owners.

Default Hybrid IC

The Hybrid monster core is 13,500cm3 ?

Have you seen the size or felt the weight of the Hybrid IC, if not I suggest you take a look. I think in the next couple of months these IC's will start to make a name for themselves.

For 825$ you could have a Hybrid in 7-10 days. PM if interested.
From direct experience i suggest you use some form of mesh with the HKS as the core is soft and prone to FOD. No experience of the other two.

Hi

What's the difference between Bar and Plate//Tube and Fin ??

Is there any advantage between Hybrid/APS/HKS or is it down to name and £..

If I fit a FMIC do you need to fit an induction filter ( I have seen other posts that say you do ) or can I keep my ITG panel filter ?

Thanks

Simon

Errr..sq72 HKS.. where in Scotland
??

Judge - Are you having a re-map as soon as fitted ? - And are you running the TD04 still ?

If your car had an APS FMIC fitted, would it be worth replacing it with a Hybrid FMIC? That's the situation I'm in... have a Hybrid sitting in a box and an APS on the car. Car will hopefully be making 400+ BHP

Hi Mark, yes car will be back on the rollers at Dastek as soon as the FMIC is fitted.

Re the induction kit,I have a panel filter at the moment but apparently this has to go. What induction kit fits once this is done? I am told the K+N kit for the MY99 will not???

K&N 57i fits fine with Hybrid kit on 98/98 and 99/00 cars.

Judge, I have a K&N sitting in my bedroom used only to check if gravity is still working.... Want it?

With that sort of volume, anybody care to say what the hybrid is like for lag? I would think it would be a nightmare with the TD04!

Dave
