Everything you say is true...the system is "bare bones" when you get it..a minimal map, so its all down to the mapper....the car is a 94/95 JDM WRX..i hit 1.4bar on a TD04 ( used to )

I have one on a UK MY98 and its stunning! Runs 1.3 bar on a TD04. the torque and response of the engine is very good. With the hand controller you can monitor boost injector duty ect and the most important one KNOCK so no need for a knock link.
Top piece of kit.

The 1.4bar, was not intended i can tell you...faulty Actuator . ( there was sarcasm in there )
It ran all day long at 1.25bar...these are very good units, really nice for smoothing boost curves and fueling....

THOMO: WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING? Press the caps lock key.
The Apexi Power F.C. is a good piece of kit and, in the right hands it can be mapped to really good effect. It is down to the mappers ability as with any other after market ECU.
You continue to rely on the MAF Sensor with the Apexi. Systems like the Link can do away with the MAF but the Link is more expensive.
The Power FC is a complete replacement ECU. An option is the hand held Commander. This allows easy access to the ECU to make adjustments to the map and has the added advantage of an LCD screen reading out the ECU perameters such as IDCs, boost, knock etc. I think the screen can be configured to give graph representation of values monitored so the Commander has uses way beyond hand held ECU access.
Over 400 bhp from a moderately modded 2 litre Scooby is a good achievment and was not generally considered possible 18 months ago. Andy has been involved in quite a few Scoobs over 400bhp, either with his turbo conversion or mapping of Apexis. Up to 441 bhp that I know of but he is quite a modest chap so probably will not put a figure on how many Apexis over 400 he has actually been responsible for mapping.
Cheryl; Love to hear your Apexi views. I assume your experience will not be restricted to Scoobies?

Cheryl:
"Harvey
Scoobies no problems. Is there a problem with me being on here?"
Sorry Cheryl, I have absolutely no problem with you being on here and I am a little at a loss to understand why you might think I or anybody else on this thread would have any problem with you. Exactly as I said,
"Cheryl; Love to hear your Apexi views. I assume your experience will not be restricted to Scoobies?"
Cannot say I have noticed you post on Scooby tuning in the past so your activities may involve other types too.
If you do not know who Andy is then clearly you are not involved in the tuning community on ScoobyNet.
Andy Forrest is from near Edinburgh and his hobby and part-time activity is producing TD05-06 20G turbos. He is a wizard on many automotive matters and a tremendous source of knowledge and wisdom, usually from his own direct experiences. Winning V8 dragster, very fast kit car, 11.66 sec 1/4 Scooby road car etc etc. So good on Apexi ECUs that people travel from Manchester/Warrington to Scotland to get the job done properly.
I know Andy bought a Subaru SVX? recently and I understand he is on with a twin engine project.
There is a lack of competant mappers in the Scooby community, not just on Apexis. Now you know all about Andy, let us hear what you think about Apexi ECUs and mapping in general and a bit about yourself and your company which is what was intended in my original post.
Do hope we have all that sorted.
