Boost idle reading - SECS showing different from Boost Guage
Hi there,
Just fitted a SECS 1004 unit last week and noticed today that the idling boost figure is different between the SECS unit and the boost guage I have.
On idle the SECS unit says -09.2 , and the boost guage shows -16
Not sure if they are different on + boost, as I can't watch the guage and the SECS at the same time :-)
Could it be that the boost guage it tapped in from the wrong point ? Mine is tee'd on the left hand side of the engine, but I have seen posts saying you should tee off from the pipe to the dump valve ?
Thanks,

What units is your vac reading in?
Assuming your vac gauge is well calibrated, I would believe that. The SECS one will be analog to digital conversion, so more room for error IMO.
Its fitted in the right place from what you describe.

Hello mark
I think I'm right in saying that your secs monitor is measuring vacuum in psi
but the autometer gauge measures vacuum in Hg's and only reads in psi for
+ pressure(boost)
