Default Walbro

Can anyone untangle this confusion of mine:

I was under the impression that the Walbro GSS341 was the correct pump (255 lph) for an upgrade on a '97 Sti JDM (and indeed ALL classic imprezas)

However after checking several US sites out it seems that the GSS342 (agsain a 255 lph jobby but a different model) is in fact the correct item??????

Apart from that, I didn't have any problem... well, until today

Was the fuel pick up pipe on the correct side? from what I reading:

GSS-341 MY93-98 Subaru
GSS-342 MY99-04 Subaru

With the only difference being the side the pick up pipe is located.

I've recently fitted a GS342 to my MY97WRX and as said a few posts up apart from no fitting kit there were no problems.

Cheers Chaps,

Have further researched and the definative answer is.....

GSS341 is the specified item for MY 97 BUT the fuel pick up position is not after all important so the GSS342 will fit equally well.

So it seems there is no issue after all.

I've GSS341 fitted to MY98. I'm thinking to put stock(old) pump filter because it sometimes cuts fueling when hard cornering if you have 4/1 gas of tank. I think pump filter is a little shorter than the stock. I'll check it!

and do you guys connect the condenser out there? I mean there is condenser on the bracket of the fuel pump.
