Early cars have no fuel light. Not sure when they got this aid, either M/Y97 or 99 I believe.

Don't think my MY97 STi3 has got one. Very nearly empty see no more than 46l to the brim so as its a 60l tank (I think) that leaves 3 gallons left.

I daren't push it any further incase the first click when brimming it isn't completely full!

MY99/00 cars should have one.

I get about 30-miles once the light's on. Still takes 55-litres to fill, so there's still a few miles in her yet.

I have a 95 WRX, ones with 50L tank, I once put 47 litres into it !! That was a close call I think, bloody Shell - why you never any Optimax when I really need it, managed to make it to the next Shell garage.
Edited to add, and does not have a low fuel light

Rally, didn't realise there were two different tank sizes for any given model year? Is yours a wagon ?

I managed to put 57.94 lites in my tank the other day ! Just leading up to the garage it was like kangaroo juice so I knew I was nearly in trouble but it held out till the pumps.

Very surprised that there's 2 tanks sizes though..

Default low fuel light

Hi all, I have a rx impreza 99 and have a low fuel light. I rely on it to tell me to "FILL UP". Comes on when i have about 55km left of fuel, ive only pushed it about 35-40kms then filled up! One of the worlds best inventions! What next?

oh by the way, thats when the fuel needle has just gone below the E (off scale)

Mine is a 4 door.

This is a quote from http://www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm
"The 60 litre fuel tank (50 litres before 1996) gives a typical range of between 210 and 300 miles between fill-ups"

Is it more efficient driving off boost in high gear for max mpg, when looking for Optimax, but accelerator slightly more depressed or in very low boost and less accelerator movement?
Any ideas.
