Heater core replacement. Help!
When I turn the heater on, the cabin is filled with moisture and coolant fumes. I suspect this is caused by a cracked heater core. What is the price of a new heater core? How do I gain access to it? A witty soul on Google groups described the work involved as "How to remove car from the heater core".
This of course happened NOW, when I'm 500 km away from home, visiting my parents. Just lucky me...last time I visited them my front left bearing and hub seized up

This tread should have been named "How to remove car from heater core". This is completely insane, the engineer at Subaru who designed this heater should have been fired. Seats, dasboard, instrument panel, center console, steering wheel, intercooler, coolant hoses...sigh. Then you finally have access to the white "plastic monster", in which the heater core is mounted:
Assemble in reverse order...sure.
