Unhappy didn't realise it would go this low.

Hi folks,

Few weeks ago i had a full de-cat and custom ecutek full re-map done, what i didn't bank on was fuel economy was going to go through the floor. I am only getting just over 200 miles to a tank and that's driving very coservitively off boost. Just wondering what everyone is getting with similar mods.

Car is a MY00 U.K

cheers James.

p.s what has happened to the old search system? and i will have to keep an eye on threads now as V.I.P doesn't work either, dammed new system

Thats unlikely to be the fault of the TEK remap. It sounds like you need a new o2 sensor. It will fail rich and make your off boost fuelling high, hence the poor economy.

Email John Banks.

I used to get 270-280 miles from a tank with the same mods.

MY00, I get ~220 miles(), with H&S downpipe + silencer, K&N panel, 18psi, BP Ultimate + Millers, standard AE802 ECU, driving like a tw@. You should be getting closer to 300 miles()!

Regarding new BBS, if you click on User CP top left, then click Edit Options, look in Messaging and Notification for Default Thread Subscription Mode, change Do Not Subscribe to either No Email Notification or Instant Email Notification.

From that point onward, every thread you reply to will appear in the list when you click on User CP.

220 mpg?! How'd you manage that one!

The TEK remap noramlly runs very slightly leaner, although still with a massive safety margin. So you should, if anything see the same or better MPG.

Along with the factor, it certainly seems a Tek3 eventually pays for itself... not very often you get to have your cake and eat it...!

Thanks lads, i will look into changing the o2 sensor, does anyone have the email address for John Banks please?

After seeing that thread at the top about fuel consumption and people only getting 180 mpg i should count myself lucky.

One last thing wouldn't it of showed up to the mapper the other week though if my o2 sensor had gone?

Cheers James.

Anyone got any thoughts about the search system, it used to be excellent on the old version with whatever you searched for now i just keep getting "no matches found" for everything.

I hope you all dont get 180 mpg

I get 20mpg

Depends who mapped it. You would hope it was picked up.

Remove the spaces from that and copy a link to this post to John. He's most helpful

MY00 PPP and full decat.

Round town I struggle to get more than 15 or 16 to the gallon, late twenties on a run though (Mway) assumed that was just the way it was!
