Question Legacy TT + Unichip...???

I've seen a company called APS possibly based in Australia advertising this mod for the Legacy B4. It looks like a "piggy-back" chip for the ECU.
Does anyone have any information about Unichip, whether they're any good, has anyone got one fitted to their TT?

Slowly amassing a spare bedroom of parts to be fitted just wondering whether this should be one to be added to the collection?

Thanks for any help, I will try the Yahoo forum just wanted to see if any UK owners have come across this.

Cheers

If ya running a B4, go straight for ECUTEK, and have it reflashed to suit ya mods

Unichip, are now Dastek, nearest dealer is Scotland.
It's a piggy back unit.

www.dastek.co.uk

There have been a few TT's unichipped.
Best place to ask is here http://groups.yahoo.com/group/legacyb4/

As usual tho, it is up to the tuner as to whether you get lots or a little, IMHO. A good one will get serious punch happening. Most chipped cars I've seen to date don't get a huge top end power jump, but do get a rather nice dollop of torque Remember, there is not that much left in those little hair dryers without optimising the breathing

ie: Intake, piping, IC, port and polish, headers, up pipe (s), down pipes, exhaust etc. Boost control is a PITA as the wategate starts to get a bit marginal once the thing really starts to flow, as does the BOV. You can chuck a whole lot of dosh at this if you want

Best of luck with your mods

AJ,

There's atleast 1 TT on here thats had TEK map done by Power Engineering, to good effect.

Do you know if it's possible to use a Dawes Device on a BG5?

Cheers for the replies...

What I was interested in was their Dyno results, It seemed quite an impressive improvement over the current, well, at least compared to mine!
The dip between the 2 turbos i know is not avoidable but it seems to be a lot less severe with the "Unichip" installed.
A bit more torque wouldn't go amiss either!!

GTB the car is a MY99 B4 RSK currently running close to standard, have a home made earthing kit, Forge VTA d/v and a K&N (only for the noise!) and a defi VSD II and a Defi Boost/Timer VSD.
Have an Apexi AVC-R, boxed and ready to go, knocklink (I'm lazy i'll install it soon AJ!! ) a number of replacement samco hoses!! Still trying to decide on the exhaust, was going to choose PE to fit the Apexi but if they do an Ecutek I better think about getting that exhaust soon!! I'd be interested to see the PE reults on the Ecutek.

How about a few more pics of the car AJ?? Didn't u post one with Mt Fuji in the background?
