Unhappy fuel gauge

hi all,
ive got a problem with my fuel gauge. when the gauge gets down to half a tank it is actually empty! any ideas what could be causing this? all help appreciated.
sorry, ive got a 94 jdm wrx.

If the solution is a new one ... i need to source a new temp and fuel gauge..any ideas anyone ??

it sounds like your sender unit is knacked, u could get a second hand 1 from GradeA breakers, do a search on yahoo 4 them

any ideas where the sender unit is? not fully clued up on the scoobs yet as only had it a month

never changed one on a scoob, but changed plenty on other cars, they are usually in the tank, connected to the float
