Default Whats the button on top of the sterring column?

Lent the scoob to my GF while she has her car serviced and she asked me what the button was on top of the steering column.

What does it do? Car is MY00.

On my MY03 it is a parking light. It leaves some sidelights on with the keys out of the ignition (for if you park down some dingy lane I suppose). I assume it is the same switch.

I presume that you gave a suitable reply when she asked, and didn't say "I don't know". Something like "its the knock-lambda-fuel sensor cut off switch" would do it. Try to add a slight tone of dismissal and irritation to your voice to give it even more weight.

There is no excuse for not knowing about your car when your gf/wife asks a question.

It's a bit more useful than the 'Bright' switch, but still only used once in a blue moon

Seriously - I've used the bright switch on many occasions (don't bother turning my headlights off anymore ) - never used the sidelight button
