If the ecu has the same plugs it will fit but you wouldn't want to fit it as firstly it will be mapped for 100RON fuel so you would then need to run with octane booster to be safe.. other issues with different cams etc.. but the main worry would be the increased rev limit the STi ecu will run due to the sti having better pistons so can take the higher RPM limit uk 97 would not like that.. would go bang..

Turbo will fit just not sure if it is a straight swap or if you will need to do any work or not.

Turbo might be a worth while mod but ecu not..

I would say you are better going for safety items like knock link and afr.. then decat the car before messing with turbo and ecu..

You might have done decat and knock link already though ??

Damo,

ECU wont fit - 99/00 have different connectors. Although the STI's are usually 1 step ahead of the 'normal' car, but im sure this will be the case.
a UK97/98 will have a 3plug yellow ECU.
so unless u want to convert all the wiring ,then i wouldnt bother.

Turbo is a go-er tho .. TD04 will only give abt 280Bhp but will spool up quickly (1bar by abt 2400rpm). A VF28 will go considerably higher (300+ i think) but will spool later, around 3000-3500.

do some searching on here, and you'll probably find some more answers on that turbo.

cheers
Steve
