As Jonny says it won't fit.

Classic ECU's up to 96 have four plug connectors, 97 onwards have three.

Goldeneye is right. You need an ECU from a MY93-96 car

Why do you want to change the ECU? (More power/ ECU's fried?)

Hi Dyney, you showed me how to read ecu codes at PP car park - thanx for that.
Re. Why another ecu? Andi (care3) offered to lend me a Z4 to try, just so I could confirm that my ecu isn't causing intermittent poor performance, but I haven't been able to get to him yet - this one was for sale on e-bay and I thought it would be worth a go if it fitted ok (it was advertised as suitable for all classic shape) as it would (I thought) get round the octane rating problem of an early import. Also, I fancied the idea of a Scoobyecu conversion, but now realise that's only suitable for earlier ecus. DOH! Live and learn.

Rod,
You can fit a ScoobyECU conv to your car, but I would borrow Care3's ECU and confirm whether the problem is the ECU first. Don't know if the ECU cold be fixed????

You should be able to get a used ECU from Grade A, Midland Impreza etc if you find it is the ECU.
Once you have tried the new ECU just send it off and get it chipped while you stick Care3's ECU back on for a couple of days
