Hi Peeps,

If posible i would like someone to try something while your driving about.

Ive noticed that i get a lot of turbulance through the transmission that appear to be comming directly from the engine speed.

The higher the gear (meaning 5th = highest) the more the turbulance/pulsing.

Anyway, the test: Hold the engine in forth or fifth gear at 2800-2900 rpm (fifth gear better), how much 'per rotation' pulsing do you get though the transmission (i can feel it through the gearstick, well i can see it though the gear stick sometimes) either side of this rpm range the 'pulsing' is still there but this seems to be the harmonic peak.

Is anyone else getting this effect, is it a subaru 'norm'

Two things are making me want to know the answer:

1) My transmission is begining to feel 'loose', is it being vibrated appart?

2) Ive been getting a flat spot (variable in effect) from about 3000-5000 rpm (jolt at 5000 as it comes back to life), ive had my battery replaced and for the first 50 or so miles the car went wonderfull, now the flat spot is comming back (i presume the ecu was reset), could my knock detector be picking up this vibration?

Any advice much appreiated

Simon

PS this is looking incresingly like it will be my last impreza i get (my first turbo) as i cant put up with the minor problems (i dont feel like the cars going to brake down at any point), anyone else new to turbo's feeling like this?
