Changing to the above from a 2.0ltr should certainly give more power if mapped/set up correctly, but how strong, and how far can the standard internals be pushed?

Andy, don't know which way to go, bullet proof 2.0ltr, if there is such a thing, or 2.5 STI, plus turbo to get potential out of either.

Not sure.

With the discount with fedex, its staff discount which ispretty huge so would have to be delivered to my mates address which is literally next door. Then i could use Fedex to ship them to your individual address?

God i love Fedex

No, but I am interested in another block so that I might do that to it.

Originally I had a 2.33 which was closed deck block, forged internals but it didn't work out because of presumed piston slap.

Nice one Frank

Can you check out the shipping cost for, say 5, and get back to us/me. At $1325 they could be to our doors for under £1k including duty, vat etc.

andy-type r The more people running them, the sooner we will find the practical limit ..... having said that, we still have not found that limit on the std internals 2.0 as they climb higher and higher above 400bhp

How much needs to be altered in order to install the U.S 2.5 in a STi MY03?
At $1350 it is something to consider if my std. engine breaks on me!

quoting john banks,

"One spare to put some forgies in"

"Say strong interest from me then for a block and crank.
Any availability for US STi heads with it?"

this coming from the man who told me less than 24hours ago, that he was not doing any more to the car and who had also decided that a happy 400/380 at star, would be more then enough for a daily driver

Definatley the way to go for big power. Has anyone thought of just getting a 20ft container full of 2.5 blocks??? They cost aprox £700 from the USA and you could fill it up with A LOT of short block and a load of other parts. If the cost of shipping is split between lets say 10 or 20 ppl that would work out to less than £100 per person. Well thats what a freind done when he got his car from JApan. He actually got a 40ft container, fit 2 cars in there and LOADS of parts, inc short blocks, electronic gizmos, carbon bonnets and wheels. Its well worth thinking about lads. Only downside is that it takes a little longer than Fedex.

Many thanks

Gerry
