THats the downside - how long do people want to wait?
We can buy them for say £700-£750, then there is shipping, import tax and vat so works out just over the £1000 mark all in
I know someone that has just bought 5 which is due in about a month and he got them under £1k each. But thats because he is doing a different shipping route so takes longer to get here.
If people are willing to wait around a month for one, then i think we should look into a container idea or something similiar.
If not it will be Fedex which is 1-2 day delivery but more expensive
Retail for Fedex is £200-£300. Ill try and sort discount out for that.
Guys thining about 2.5 - remember this isnt the full engine. Its only the short engine so still need turbo, inlet, headers etc.

Additional items could be done at a later date when funds allow.
John Banks swapped the bits from his 2 litre on to the 2.5 and is happy with it...........
But for how long.......

Defo interested in a 2.5 block and all the bits at these prices. The $ exchange rate is too damn tempting right now, and I'm not in a hurry.
Forgive my ignorance, but what is the score the with the US clutch and gearbox? How many gears, what ratios, torque limits? Could go for some of that, too
Please keep me posted.
Many thanks,
Richard.

Is anybody interested or willing to take this further as a groupbuy ?
I am willing to explore the cost of the short motors and sea shipping.
I would need a ball park figure for the number of people interested in purchasing a short engine i.e block, crank and pistons.
I hope that if this groupbuy got off the ground it could be run in the same manner/fomat as the Hybrid FMIC GB.
Does anybody think the exchange rate will change rapidly soon ?

Hi Mark: The exchange rate may not change rapidly but it is unlikely to improve much either, so my logic is to buy now while the going is good.
As regards organising the group buy and your compliment regards the first group buy on the Hybrid front mounts, if you give me 24/36 hours I may be able to organise this one if you wish. Let me know. Waiting for my next work related instructions.
FWIW, there is a second FMIC buy underway in drivetrain. 708$, polished, complete kit delivered with import duty to pay. 608$ unpolished.

Harvey,
I'm happy to do the leg work i.e find a supplier and cost the shipping, and hand it on/liaise with you again.
Let me know what you think
