Took the Scooby for a spin today
#1
I managed to get my my99 sti ra quite a lot out of shape this morning in the rain..... exiting a slow left hand corner in the wet I overdid the loud pedal a bit and the back end stepped out, we fishtailed a bit and I stopped almost facing rearwards! A bit of a let off really but I was just wondering with hindsight, would the traction have been better had I wound the adjustable centre diff forwards a bit?

Yes, in a word. Winding the diff forward will make the car less prone to power oversteer (or more stable if you like), and less likely to lock its front wheels under braking.
However, if you wind it up too far you'll find it understeering/pushing on in tight corners, so don't automatically think that winding it up all the way is the way to go in the wet.
