Question

What sort of horse power is the standard pump good for?

I am looking at getting upto around 270 Bhp and told I should have a new pump first. Is this over the top?

Im running 260bhp with no probs. I would think the standard pump would be good for around 300bhp though.

Need confirmation of this of course, im no expert.

Thumbs up

Tandy,
I am running 290-300bhp on a MY 02 with the standard fuel pump with no ill affect after 6 months.
Any future mods would require another pump I think.

Hi Tandy,
Full De-cat and ecu-tek remap,mate.
I just wanted enough to give the new car the same grunt out of the bends etc to my old car (which was a 94 jap import WRX).
Alot will depend on how big your budget is for mods. The mods for my car cost £1,200-£1,300.Other people go for bigger BHP figures, but the above mods were ideal for me.
I used Xtreme scoobies in Boreham.Knowlesy and his team are very professional and friendly, and look after the customers (even after purchase!).
I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy the mod route that you choose.
Kind Regards
Dean

Thanks for the input Dean,

I assume you already had the cat back system or was that included in the price? it seems a good price!

After a decat do you have to put any electronics on to stop the dash board warning or do's the EcuTek take care of that?

I would like to keep my car legal and am considering something with a high flow cat, anybody got one of these?

Thanks again

Tandy,
Yes,the car already had a Hayward and Scott mid section and rear silencer on it when I purchased it.
The Ecu-tek takes care of any of the CEL light problem that is associated with a de-cat.
Go for the pipe where the EGT has been relocated, where it is slightly cooler!(If you go for a full de-cat that is.)
Cheers

The high flow cat in the Power Engineering centre section gets me through the MOT easily, its the only cat on the car, cat-less downpipe fitted. It does not absorb much power either.
