Strange smell in cabin with heater on.
#1
When my 96 uk wagon (turbo) is warmed up I get a bad smell of burning oil or similar in the cab. There is no sign of an oil leak and recently had the crank seal replaced after it developed a slight leak.
Also, over the last couple of days at probably 0 degrees c outside temp, I've noticed a little steam coming from the intercooler. I've checked all the water pipes and header tank and all seems fine and I'm not losing any fluids.
Any ideas?
Skoosh.
p.s: Happy ne year to all and I hope u all have a scoob-tastic 2004!

My My96 wagon has the same problem, it only occurs when the engine fans are running or stopping at the top of a hill or after high speed motorway running. I also had the crank seel replaced after it apparently fell out (8 months after cam belt change)
Any idea whats going on?
Happy new year
