Does anyone know whether a cam angle sensor would cause my impreza to run on only two cylinders, and if so where is the best place to buy one from.

Cheers

No, a faulty cam or crank sensor would most likely result in the engine either generally running rough, or refusing to start at all.

If it's dropping onto two pretty consistently, and you're talking about an MY97-00, the likeliest cause is a shagged coilpack.
