I've got an MY00 Impreza and want to know if I disconnect the battery overnight will that do the same job as using a piece of wire across the ECU port?

Just want to see if any fault codes get thrown up.

TIA

leaving your battery off over night will reset your ecu but i am not sure you will see any fault codes when you reconnect. If you use the search function it will give you the way to look for fault codes in there. When you have sorted how to do it here will tell you what they mean.

you only need to keep the battery off for about 1-2 hours at the most as per technical site above
