Err, I don't think you should be pulling the handbrake! It's not very gentle on the centre diff.

Lol! Why do you need to use the handbrake to flick it sideways? Can't you drive?

As the others have suggested, mucking about with the handbrake in this manner on a viscous centre diff/ABS car is neither necessary, big nor clever. If the brake pedal complains when you do it, the best answer is not to do it.

As to why the brake pedal does what it does, the ABS is probably the likeliest explanationt, although if you kept your right foot on the throttle whike you were messing about, it could be due to there not being any vacuum in the brake servo.

when your going fast and got tight little lanes with 180 degree bends the hand brake becomes very useful...

if you can drive fast in the islands tiny lanes you can drive fast anywhere....!! even on motorways...!

lol.. so yeah i can drive

Really? Thanks, but given your cornering technique, I think I'd rather rely on a map or the satnav to show me round. Thanks for the offer though.
