I know it's the age old question, but it never seems to get answer for us normally aspirated folk.

What should I be putting in my MY95 Impreza GL?

Motul 300V 15W40 or Castrol RS 10W60 are usually the recommended options for the turbos, does the same apply for me?

Cheers,

Ben

Due to the lower engine temperatures the normally aspirated engines run at, a slightly thinner oil would suit your car better than that normally recommended for turbos.

Mobil 1 0/40, Castrol RS 0/40, or if you want to economise a bit and go for a semi-synth, Mobil Super S 10/40 or Shell Helix Plus 10/40. Something along those lines will be fine. As ever the really important issues are a good quality filter, regular oil changes and good change technique.

Cheers greasemonkey, I'll probably go for some RS then.
Many thanks,
Ben
