Can anyone help I have a 96 wrx the problem is that on hard acceleration there is a missfire, it is fine if I accelerate gradually. I have replaced the spark plugs but still no luck.

anyone have any ideas?

Hi there

First check the plug gaps are correct.
Then Check the Coil packs for cracks etc.
Sounds like on hard boost the spark isn't strong enough
and when pressure builds it finds the weak point-crack etc.

Try some damp start type spray first on the coil packs, as this did sort mine
for a short period- better spark etc.

Eventually changed 1 coil pack then had to change all 4 to sort it.
