Oil Filter Part No.????

Received 2 genuine Subaru oil filters today from Scooby Mania part no. 15208AA080 is this the correct oil filter for a 1997 Impreza WRX?? ( Any help would be appreciated as these filters are alot smaller plus a different colour than the ones i bought last time for my 1996 WRX )

Yep, tis true, the newer 080 filter is the replacement for the older 024 design. The main reason, though, is that the equal length exhaust manifold on the newer cars takes up more space, and the filter has been made a tad smaller as a result.

Thanx tailfin, i spoke to several Subaru dealers in the U.K. and quoted them the part no. and they told me that the 080 oil filter is the new replacement and is now standard across the range (i.e. Impreza, Legacy, Forrester etc etc..)
