Last night I had my up pipe and downpipe changed (decat)on my MY01 WRX.

but for some reason the CEL light hasnt come on.. I've got the fix but not installed it yet..

can anyone know why or what the problem could be, as with 2 cats missing surely I'd get a CEL

thanks in advance

Phil

100 miles up the motor way will quickly sort that one out, but melting the EGT is the real bummer

so the EGT sensor will melt in the up pipe ???

if it does what are the potential problems..and how should i fix them ??

also is my WRX supposed to sound like a "whistleing motorbike" with the front 2 cats removed

does sound nice though.. but not really got the sort of performance increases i expected... meaning..NO increase in noticeable power , only noise

well Im not 100%, but my EGT sensor lasted 2 days, but I did have the headers done as well, simple fix with a 2.2k ohm reisitor, it just knocks the CEL on, the resistor bypasses the sensor ( the ECU now does not monitor EGT)

mate Im not sure how much power you should notice as I had mine done all together ( with TEK 3) but the best way to describe the extra power is 5 th gear now feels like 4th used to be

Red face

I would worry if I had a CEL, wait and see how it's going...

MadGrip,

I have a decat downpipe (not done the up-pipe yet), and I was getting the occasional P0420 CEL, so I ordered the CEL fix from JW Racing. I now have it, but have not had the CEL since acquiring (and not fitting) the fix box.

Maybe they work remotely and there is actually no need to connect them to the car

thanks for that, I'm glad to know its not only me who had this happen.. If the CEL dosnt light up then I'll consider it a bonus.

dont think I'll sell the fix at the moment though just in case.

Cheers

DON'T sell it as I am sure they work remotely...
