How long to re-learn operating parameters after ECU reset?

Hi all,
Just had a new MAF fitted today, and also had the ECU reset at my request after running 3 tanks of Optimax through my MY99.
How long does the ECU take re-learn whatever limits (knock, max boost etc?) it uses to run correctly. Is it pretty much instant or does it take a while? Do i need to use lots of full throttle to let it learn 'that end' of the scale?
