Erm, hopefully not stating the obvious, but you have a stiffly sprung car, with direct steering, running on very low profile tyres. Under these circumstances a large amount of interaction between the car and the road surface can only be expected.
What do you mean by the steering being "thrown off"? It sounds as though your car's behaving normally; a 2001 car is certainly unlikely to have excessively worn bushes. Has the car felt this way since you had it, or has it suddenly got worse? Either way, if you're in any doubt, the correct approach would be to find a well regarded centre near you and get a full suspension geometry check.

Are you on the OEM bridgestones ? They were cr*p for tramlining and general nervousness. A swap to F1's/Toyo's will make significant difference.

Tried the For Sale forum? It's impossible for any of us to comment on the behaviour of your car without getting behind the wheel and having a play. As mentioned above, the only way to be certain is to get it checked out professionally. Suspect it's fine though.

Hello UK3,
I've not seen you arround stoke, yet! I don't live far away from another UK300 too.
I've sometimes though mine has gone overly light. However geometry checks out fine.
What tyres are you running and what pressures? I'm running Yohama AVS sports 35fr 33rr.
I've had mine for two years. Did you get yours locally?
Regards,
Ian
