Ok, i managed to locate the coolant temp sensor, trace it to the ECU and measure it, at startup, its a bit above 2volts dc, and i left the car idling for a while, the voltage dropped to about 1.3v after about 10 mins with the temp needle sitting a fair bit under half, the ECU chart states it should be 0.6-1.0v after warm up, i figured after taking it for a blast it would read under 1.0, but does this all sound ok to you guys? does starting from ~2.4v and dipping downward all sound in order?
Im chasing really bad fuel economy and this is one of the check points

Sorry mate not sure about the voltage but what do you call bad economy, how far off a full tank??? im getting around 200-250 miles per tank & thats not driving it hard everywhere!

if the temp switch is faulty you prob would have other probs.(E.g
bad starting)

Sorry cant tell you no more!

Theres a meeting this sun, you could have a chat 2 compare MPG to every1 else!
look in Northern section under East Lancs Scooby (trev) 4 directions, meeting at 1pm

PS This could be a right foot problem!
