Question

I'm picking up my STI VI in the next few days. It has a full decat fitted. Will it be ok running like this or has anyone experienced problems running a decat on an STI V or VI?

Cheers chaps,

Cal

you would be well advised to fit a knocklink & boost gauge ASAP if its not got 1 fitted, just to check whats going on, IMHO i would also look at getting a remap done, although there are some who advocate running without a remap & just rely on the knocklink for potential probs

Yeah was going to fit a knocklink anyway. It's just knowing who to get a remap from and how much, Don't want to mess up a lovely rare car,

Yes I've seen some of his posts. I'd like a sympathetic map to keep the car happy and maybe help her run a little better on optimax, not really to boost power as shell be knocking on the door of 290 to 300 bhp with the decat and thatll be plenty for me.
Cheers cal.

cal, thats exactly the option i went for full de-cat & K&N, thats enough 4 me, remap to suit optimax, only issue im having at the mo is fuelling, the remap really does affect the way you drive your car after a tek3, it boosts up very quickly now

Yeah apart from a decat and an ITG filter I want to stay standard to preserve mine and the clutches life! Lol

Will speak to Bob rawle, but wont have the cash till about feb, so plenty of booster till then!
