DOE'S THIS MEAN TROUBLE???
#1
Hello everyone, i've had my 99 classic for two weeks now and I love it. However, three times now the "CHECK ENGINE" light has come on just for about twenty seconds or so when setting off from cold and then gone out. This hasn't come on again when the car is warm and I just wondered if it is anything to worry about.
Has anyone else seen this happen?
Thanks in advance,
Jamie.

There's a was of finding out what the error is - something to do with the plugs under the dash, I think
Someone more helpful/knowledgable should be along shortly, I'd have thought - might be able to help once it's diagnosed!

This website http://www.troublecodes.net/Subaru/ shows the connectors in question and also how to decode the CEL flashes.

Well, I found this...
Which is a start Should turn some more info up, anyway.
If you look under the dashboard in drivers footwell should see 2 black and 2 green connectors. Maybe taped away.
Switch off ignition.
Connect 2 black plugs together.
Turn ignition on - don't start car.
Watch for a check engine light(CEL) on the dash board.
If it flashes intermittently (long/short flashes) may be able to work out CEL code.
If you do a search on here for CEL codes, may give you a clue what is wrong.
